SAGES & SUPA Collaboration funding opportunity

The SAGES/SUPA Collaboration Scheme is designed to offer kickstart funding to foster collaborations between SAGES and SUPA colleagues, with the hope that these will serve as proof-of-concept work for longer, in-depth collaborations, publications, and follow-up applications to larger funding schemes.

Topics could cover any subject of mutual interest to SUPA and SAGES researchers. For example, the proposed research could focus on the development, testing, or implementation of remote sensing instruments, laboratory experiments, fieldwork or models for the study and monitoring of processes and environments, including in the field of geophysics, oceanography, volcanology, hydrology, glaciology, climatology and planetary sciences.

Funds can be requested for a contribution towards collaborative research expenses. Support can cover fieldwork, purchase lab equipment, contribute to the organisation of a workshop, a visit to a project partner to conduct collaborative laboratory work or finalise a larger grant proposal etc. Novel and collaborative ideas that have a clear path to opportunities for building research networks, long lasting collaborations, new funded research streams and cross-institutional applications will be prioritised.

Application deadline: 26 September 2024
