Funding is available to support SAGES members research, including:
Please explain how the funding will be used and the impact it will have.
If applying to attend a conference, include details of any presentation you will deliver, its format (oral or poster), and its significance to you and the wider science community.
For research projects, please provide full details of the project including it's novelty, objectives, expected outcomes, and key collaborators.
For collaborative research activities, please highlight the collaboration and demonstrate how the partnership will operate as a reciprocal collaboration, rather than simply funding for analytical services.
Activities can start any time after the award outcome date, 25th November 2026 and must be completed by 31st July 2027.
Applicants must be SAGES members.
Applicants are not permitted to submit more than one application per call.
If you received funding from the 17th call you are ineligible to apply to this call.
Priority will be given to applicants who have no other source of funding.

Closing date: 17:00 - 4th November 2026
Process to claim funds: The institution of the awardee must claim the fund from SAGES by the 31st January 2027, and the awardee must spend the fund and complete all activities by the 31st July 2027.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email by 25th November 2026.
The proposer will be required to make a short video to be distributed via SAGES social media channels on how the funds were used.
The awardee is also expected to attend and present the work at the SAGES annual conference.
Report must be received 2 weeks after completion of funded activity.
