The main work is focused on the torrefaction (pyrolysis) of biomass, especially pretreatment-pyrolysis. Biomass pretreatment is related to metal salt soaking and torrefaction. The research work mainly includes the change of metal salts or temperature, the interaction between metal salts and biomass, the role of metal salts or temperature in the thermal conversion of biomass
