Research interests:

I am interested in the responses of soil nitrogen and phosphorus to changing environmental conditions, and the implications for plant growth and carbon cycling in Arctic ecosystems.

Career history:

Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences (PhD). University of Edinburgh, 2018 – 2022.

Chemistry with Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry (MChem). University of Edinburgh, 2012 – 2018.

NERC Research Experience Placements (2014, 2015 and 2017).

Active research projects:

How green will the Arctic get? Understanding plant nutrient availability in Arctic ecosystems and its impacts on global climate change.

Research questions
• What mechanisms limit plant access to nutrients in Arctic soils?
• Will the relative availabilities of different nutrient forms change under future conditions?
• Under what conditions might plant nutrient availability be expected to be most responsive to temperature?
