Research interests:

My research interests include antimicrobial resistance – both its potential causes (e.g. antibiotic contamination, other environmental contamination) and solutions (e.g. wastewater treatment, the use of bacteriophages). I am also interested in anthropogenic contamination and its remediation in water, soil, and sediment. This includes chemical analyses of e.g. metals as well as environmental microbiology/microbial ecology e.g. culturing, DNA sequencing, bioinformatics. I have also recently begun to explore environmental parasitology. I am interested in multi-/cross-disciplinary work that aims to solve global issues associated with antimicrobial resistance, anthropogenic contamination, water shortages, and climate change.
