Resource Recovery from Chitosan and Ragworms’ Bioremediation of Waste.
Investigating ragworm ability to bioremediate waste streams such as fish farm effluent as their energy source, providing clean water and ragworm biomass for use as complementary fish feed in a circular economy system. Chitosan (a molecule derived from the outer shells of shellfish) is used to coagulate dissolved pollutants into particulates which ragworms can subsequently feed on.
