SAMS in association with SAGES Small Grant scheme support will be hosting a Python Retreat on 05-08 November 2018. This will be an opportunity to spend some time focussing on starting the process of using Python for data analysis and presentation. The course will run for 4 days in Inver Lodge Ballater and during this time the participants will be expected to commit to the task in hand, so no marking, proposal/paper writing, reviewing etc. There will be some work to do before the Retreat to ensure we are all up to scratch with the basics, so please take this extra time commitment into account if you apply.
There are only 17 places (please note that you will be expected to share bedrooms) and so there is a need for an application process. If you would be interested in coming along, then please send me approximately 250 words explaining your coding experience and how you would benefit from this Retreat.
While this Retreat is open to all SAGES members, 5 of the spaces will be reserved for Graduate School members only, leaving 12 places for SAGES Research & Academic members.
Information can be found on the event flyer. Please send any questions or applications to marie.porter@sams.ac.uk.
Application deadline: 8 July 2018
