Developing ACT’s carbon trading service
Are you a motivated student with good knowledge of land use mapping and ecology, with an interest in carbon accounting and trading schemes?
ACT are looking for a student to help them in developing their carbon trading service. The internship would involve assisting with establishing criteria for land parcels to be viable for their carbon trading proposals (such as optimum size, access, drainage and competing demands) and reviewing maps of land in agency ownership to draw up an inventory of suitable sites.
ACT was established in 2013 to sustainably maintain, enhance and promote the coast and countryside of Argyll and the Isles. ACT works in partnership with communities, public agencies and private organisations to design and implement projects that make a difference to people and landscapes. They are committed to both addressing the climate crisis and developing rural skills and training opportunities, and see a viable market in carbon sequestration as a tradeable ecosystem service, through corporate clients and other parties purchasing carbon credits generated through the woodland regeneration and restoration in Argyll & Bute.
Please send your CV and Cover Letter to Rosanna Harvey-Crawford by July 31st. Selection will be by the second week of August
