2018 SAGES Annual Science Meeting: Global climate Challenges – Evidence and Solutions
The Scottish Alliance for Geosciences, Environment and Society will hold its Annual Science Meeting (ASM) on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th November 2018 at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro.
Our research themes will open the ASM, showcasing the breadth of SAGES research. SAGES Fora will then give structure to the main business of this year’s ASM. We have our international partners from Geoverbund ABC-J in attendance (Universities of Aachen, Bonn, Cologne & Julich research centre) for joint sessions on Carbon, Water cycle management and Earth System Modelling. There will be further sessions on ice/ocean interactions, volcanoes, and environmental quality and human wellbeing.
The full programme will be available soon but we can announce that the speakers list will include:
Keynote speakers:
• Professor Pete Smith FRS (University of Aberdeen)
• Professor Des Thompson FRSE (Principal Advisor on Biodiversity in Scottish Natural Heritage, and SAGES Advisory Board Chair)
• Jon Rathjen (Water Industry Team Leader, Scottish Government)
